Working Chef
The Working Chef coordinates activities of and directs training of sous chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers engaged in preparing and cooking foods to ensure an efficient and profitable food service. Responsible for the fiscal performance of the department along budgeted guidelines.
Dining Room Manager
The Dining Room Manager is responsible for the coordination of a smooth operation of the Dining Room, including safe operations, by working through subordinate Wait Staff personnel to deliver the highest possible level of service to the residents of the Community.
Cook
The Cook is responsible for the preparation of food for the resident population within a Community. Specifically they prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption.
Lead Cook
The Lead Cook is responsible for the preparation of food for the resident population within a Community. Specifically they prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption; and has additional responsibility to provide work direction to other kitchen staff as defined by the Working Chef.
Prep Cook
The Prep Cook is responsible for the preparation of food for the resident population within a Community. Specifically they prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption.
Wait Staff Member
A member of the Wait Staff serves meals to dining room patrons. Major duties include greeting guests in a friendly, courteous manner, taking orders, serving meals, clearing tables, and preparing for the next meal. All work is assigned and reviewed on a daily basis by Dining Room Manager.
Lead Wait Staff Member
The Wait Staff Lead person performs all of the duties required of a member of the Wait Staff, and acts in place of Dining Room Manager in the absence of that person to provide working direction to Wait Staff members.
Dishwasher
The Dishwasher, who may also have duties associated with the Utility Associate position, maintains kitchen work areas and dining room equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition.
Utility Person
The Utility Person, or Porter, is responsible for keeping the Community premises clean and orderly by addressing several, varied areas of maintenance and custodial responsibilities.
