What makes Carlton Senior Living feel different to you?

Here’s what Mavis has to say:

My name is Mavis and I live in a Carlton Senior Living community. Which one is not important…they’re all equally awesome! It’s the way Carlton does senior living.

Saying I’m happy here at my Carlton doesn’t quite capture it. I love it. Everyone is so dedicated to their job…it’s refreshing.

Living at Carlton is special. If you live here, that makes you feel special too!

What makes living here special? When it comes right down to it, it’s the staff. From the Community Manager and his/her support staff, to the Care Partners, to the Med Techs, to the Wait Staff in the dining room, to the Chefs in the kitchen, to the Housekeepers who clean your room and wash your clothes, to the Maintenance Staff…all are special in their own way.

Care Partners are the backbone of a Carlton community. They give new meaning to Assisted Living, arriving with a smile and a willingness to help with virtually anything. I appreciate their commitment to answering every call in the shortest amount of time. That responsiveness means a great deal to me because I know what it feels like to need help and not have it close at hand.

Having Care Partners here when I need help gives me a sense of security I deeply appreciate.

Others try, but no one does it better than Carlton!

Signing off from inside Carlton…I’m Mavis, and life is good here!

Mavis Arthur-Caruso was born in Nacogdoches, Texas, and has lived most of her life in Arizona and California. She attended San Jose State University, where she received a B.A. in Drama with an emphasis in Creative Writing, as well as her teaching credential.

With her husband, Jim Caruso, Mavis founded JM (Jim and Mavis) Production Company, which develops websites and television shows. Together, they wrote and produced STARCADE!, a video arcade game show, and Mavis still maintains the STARCADE! website and YouTube channel today.

Mavis is also a published author. Her first book, Everywoman’s Guide to Financial Independence, was followed by how-to books on video and computer technology. Mavis and Jim were partners in both business and life, traveling extensively and having the opportunity to meet well-known figures including Alex Trebek and Ted Turner.

Mavis has two daughters and one son. Today, she keeps busy with computer and website projects while still making time for an afternoon round of Bingo.

And now she’s adding one more project to the list: Ask Mavis, where she’ll share her firsthand perspective on senior living and answer questions from older adults, families and others who want to know more about life in a senior living community.
