Resident Spotlight – Mickey & Floyd McLean

Meet Carlton Senior Living spotlight residents, Mickey and Floyd McLean –  Mickey and Floyd first met at a birthday party in Fresno, California. For their first date they went to the movies and saw “Honeymoon” staring Shirley Temple and Guy Madison. Floyd and Mickey married July 18, 1950 and have been married for over 60 years. Mickey worked for city schools as a library technician while Floyd worked for the state. They have three sons named Jim, John, and Mark. Floyd and Mickey also have four grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Out of all the traveling they have done Mickey’s favorite place is Europe while Floyd prefers Hawaii. Favorite hobbies include singing for Mickey and Floyd enjoys fishing. People would be surprised to know that after all these years of marriage they still have fun together. Three words to describe Mickey would be “talkative, kind, and a movie buff.” Three words to describe Floyd would be “tall, dark, and handsome.”

The thing Mickey likes best about living in the community is that she no longer has to cook. Floyd’s favorite thing about the Carlton Senior Living Elk Grove is the kindness of the people and associates. What Mickey and Floyd love best about their relationship is their family.
