To my dearest Nana,
To say that I am lucky to have had you so close my whole life is an understatement. You’ve provided love and support to all five of us grandchildren through and through. I greatly look forward to our phone calls and every time I get to see your smiling face. I remember so fondly our individual special weekends together where you would let one grandchild stay over at a time to get spoiled rotten, watch movies like American Graffiti in the den and wake up to your delicious “eggs in toast”. My childhood is filled with those types of memories: Hawaii, Disneyland and my favorite of all, Christmas mornings. I remember you waking up early with me when I couldn’t sleep because of being too excited. You would tell me stories of your childhood and sing carols to me until the rest of the family woke up. Those memories are priceless to me.
Nana, you are a remarkable woman. You have overcome a lot to be an amazing role model of strength to me and Sissy. I love to tell everyone how you retired two weeks before your 95th birthday, because who does that? You do, because you’re that incredible. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Nana, for being you!
With love and appreciation,
