Meet Carlton Senior Living spotllight resident, Caroline BoteilhoMeet Carlton Senior Living spotlight resident, Caroline Casipit – Caroline Louise Boteilho was born on the island of Maui in Hawaii on December 7, 1937 and moved to Molokai island a year later. She is the second oldest of nine siblings who now live everywhere from Hawaii to Idaho. At the age of 19, Caroline moved to Hayward, California and was married to her husband, Calvin Casipit, for 52 years until his passing in 2012.

Caroline and Calvin are parents to three sons, Calvin, Chaton and Clifford. Caroline is also the proud grandmother of five grandchildren and is the happy cat companion of Sofie. The ways to describe Caroline are adventurous, competitive and an animal lover.

In her earlier years, Caroline worked in a cookie factory and she also worked in an office. She eventually retired to Prescott, Arizona before moving to Carlton Senior Living Elk Grove in 2019 to be closer to her sister. Some of her favorite things about Carlton is how beautiful the community is and the wonderful staff. She also enjoys the delicious meals. The advice she offers new residents is to look to the future and to not give up but instead focus on their health.

Out of all the places she has visited, her favorite was Canada. She once went on a Canadian cross-country trip from Victoria to Manitoba and stayed in a countryside lake house cabin in the mountains. Her hobbies include knitting and sewing. An avid bowler, she has traveled around the country to compete in bowling tournaments.
