Cynthia “Cyndy” Manfred Bradley was born on August 23, 1935 in Niagara Falls, New York. Her father, Pete, was a gym teacher, and her mother, Agnes, was a bookkeeper. She grew up in Lewiston, New York, near Niagara Falls. She has two older siblings, Ben and Mary. Cyndy recalls being a mischievous child. One time, when a house was being built in the neighborhood, Cyndy and a friend went over and unscrewed every screw in the house. After high school, Cyndy continued her education at William Smith College in Geneva, New York. …

Margaret recalls not having running water or electricity as a young girl. Her parents, Finis and Mary Ann, had eight children together; Margaret was the second youngest. Her father worked at St. Joe Minerals in the lead mines. After graduating from Flat River Junior College, Margaret met her future husband, John Paul. They were introduced by Margaret’s best friend, Katie; Katie was married to John’s brother, Ted. They married in 1944, while John was in the service, and lived happily …

Ronna Margolis Berezin was born in Washington, D.C. on August 25, 1939. Her father, Sydney Margolis, owned a men’s clothing store. Ronna describes him as hot-tempered and strict. Her mother, Frances, worked at the store and cared for her family. Ronna had a wonderful relationship with her mother. She has two younger siblings, Richard, an OBGYN who lives in Maryland, and Vivian, who lives in New Mexico. She says that she was lucky to have a good childhood and a great group of friends. John lived in Inwood until 1950 when he joined the United States Air Force. He served for three years and was stationed in Rapid City, South Dakota. While in the Air Force, John met his wife, Evelyn.
