The California Assisted Living Association (CALA) recognized Tapinder Kaur, community nurse at Carlton Senior Living Fremont as the recipient of the Outstanding Community Nurse Award during an Awards Celebration Luncheon held on June 7 at Elevate: CALA’s Spring Conference & Trade Show in Sacramento.
Known for her exceptional care and selfless nature, Kaur has earned the heartfelt admiration of residents, staff and family members. Her unwavering commitment to providing compassionate service has made her a beloved figure in the community.
Residents at Carlton Senior Living Fremont unanimously describe Kaur as “the angel in the room” due to her warm and comforting presence. With her unique brand of care, Kaur has become a lifeline to many residents, creating an environment where they feel valued and happy. She handles problems and provides prompt and effective care with true heart and compassion, going above and beyond her duties without hesitation.
Kaur’s dedication extends beyond her role as a nurse.
She willingly assists residents with tasks such as escorting them to the dining room and delivering newspapers to their doors, always accompanied by a warm smile. Even when it’s not her direct responsibility, Kaur ensures that a resident with diabetes receives a tray of food before their injection, brightening the resident’s day. Her commitment to making residents feel cherished and content is unwavering.
