Carlton Senior Living Event Raises $1,500 For Special Needs Athletes
Carlton Senior Living Sacramento hosted a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on July 5, 2016 that brought in $1,500 to benefit special needs athletes. More than 200 people attended, including guests and residents of the Carlton Senior Living community. The money raised at the event was donated to Pathways to Recreation, a nonprofit that provides advocacy, education and funding for people with disabilities in Sacramento County.
Lisa Schumann, Executive Director of Carlton Senior Living in Sacramento, said she was inspired to host the event by one of her residents, Suzie Smith.
“Suzie participates in the Special Olympics and she is such an inspiration to everyone around her,” Schumann said. “We really wanted to do something to benefit her and other special needs athletes in the area, so we hosted a spaghetti dinner and invited our families and friends. It was a really fun night for everyone.”
